Criteria for 2019 PanAm Games Universality

The two athletes with PanAm ‘A’ cuts, Alia Atkinson and Keanan Dols, have opted to not go to the 2019 Pan Am Games because of how close they are to the World Championships in Korea. This leaves only ‘B’ qualifiers who would most likely not be selected. In order to ensure participation, the ASAJ therefore wants to select two Universality swimmers.

Criteria to meet the Universality clause were recently ratified by Council to guarantee selection above the ‘B’ qualifiers. Since no ‘A’ Qualifiers are going then the federation will get two universality places.
