Jamaica invited to XXIV Goodwill Swim Meet in Barbados

Barbados has invited Jamaica to participate in the 2018 Goodwill Swim Meet

Each year in the middle of August a group of Caribbean countries, including Barbados, Suriname, St. Lucia, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Bahamas and Grenada, organizes the Goodwill Swim Meet.

The Goodwill Swim Meet is a short course (SCM) development meet for 10&U swimmers as well as 11&O swimmers who have not competed at CARIFTA or higher regional competitions in the same year.

For those interested in finding out more about the meet, please read the summons posted here.

The host of any particular year’s edition may invite a Federation outside of the above-mentioned group to participate as a guest. This year the host nation is Barbados and the Barbados Amateur Swimming Association (BASA) has extended this invitation to Jamaica.

Competitors at this event will represent their countries and are chosen from a range of Clubs using a selection process similar to that for CARIFTA and other international meets.

The exact qualification criteria will be posted to the Resources page by Friday, May 11th.
