President Lyn says thank you to the CARIFTA 2018, CCCAN 2018 and CAC 2018 aquatic teams

At its start, 2018 promised to be a busy year for Aquatics with there being a number of regional and international meets scheduled. At the end of July, Jamaica had participated in CARIFTA for which as you know we were the hosts, CCCAN in Aruba, and most recently, CAC in Baranquilla, Colombia.

To date, we have performed well despite the challenges that came our way. In total for the three competitions, our swim team has won 76 medals (24 gold, 20 silver and 32 bronze), set several local and regional records and attained several personal best times. Our Artistic Swimming team won 3 gold medals at CARIFTA while our Water Polo teams won 1 gold and 3 silver medals. At the recently concluded CAC Games, the Water Polo team placed 7^th overall but 5^th in the Caribbean region.

On behalf of the Association, I want to commend these teams for their performances and to thank them for their efforts in making Jamaica’s mark in the region. We look forward to seeing our teams continue to give outstanding performances at upcoming competitions.
