Certification Course for Technical Controllers of Artistic Swimming

PanAm Aquatics will be conducting a new Certification Course for Technical Controllers of Artistic Swimming.
The certification will be carried out by Kara Heald and Leslie Sproule, both AQUA Instructors, and will be 100% in English, including a MANDATORY exam.

The role of the Technical Controller involves several key responsibilities:

  1. Rule Adherence: Ensuring that all aspects of the competition, including routines, judging procedures, and athlete conduct, comply with the established rules and regulations of artistic swimming.

  2. Judging Oversight: Monitoring the judging panels to ensure consistency and fairness in the scoring of routines. This may involve providing guidance to judges, resolving disputes, and reviewing scoresheets.

  3. Technical Expertise: Demonstrating a deep understanding of the technical elements of artistic swimming, including figures, routines, and scoring criteria. Technical Controllers are often former athletes or coaches with extensive experience in the sport.

  4. Communication: Serving as a liaison between the organizing committee, judges, coaches, and athletes to address any concerns or issues that may arise during the competition.

  5. Continued Education: Staying up-to-date with any changes or updates to the rules and regulations of artistic swimming and providing training or educational sessions for judges and officials as needed.

Overall, the Technical Controller plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and fairness of artistic swimming competitions, helping to maintain the standards of the sport and promote a positive experience for athletes and spectators alike.
